My experience was excellent.  Felt like I was staying with family
that sincerely wanted me to have a wonderful experience.  The facility is
great.  The food was great...huge proportions.  The breakfast was awesome.
The other guests were great. Really, the whole experience was much more than
I expected.  People I met from the Ritz Carlton were coming over to the
suites to have food and fun! Thanks for a great time. I will definitely be

My wife and I recently returned from a 5 night stay at S.S.R. (August 6-11) and we were very pleased with everything, from the warm and friendly greetings at reception, to the absolutely delicious food and drink (if you like margaritas, you MUST try their "perfect margarita" -- Patron silver, GM, and fresh lime juice -- all for around $9 -- that's a $15 margarita where I come from easily, and their burgers truly are – as voted -- the island’s best), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Never have we ever seen a Caribbean hotel receive consistently stellar reviews on Trip Advisor until now, and this place earns that right. They really know how to make you feel welcome, and the grounds are kept impeccably neat, as are the rooms. If you’re a diver, the helpful staff will arrange trips through their preferred outfitter, Divers Down, who will provide roundtrip transportation and introduce you to the most exquisite dive sites I’ve ever visited. Upon return, dip tanks and hanging stations are available for SCUBA gear, which is a nice touch and a much better alternative to storing wet gear in your room. While you're there, be sure to ask about "Nelson the weather dog" who is the G.M.'s beagle and absolutely adorable. My wife and I fruitlessly searched for him all week and when the G.M. heard we wanted to meet him, he brought us over to Nelson’s "work station" to say hello and scratch his floppy ears. Stay at this resort -- you will not be disappointed. We’ve been to the best and the most expensive throughout the Caribbean, but after awhile you just want something clean, comfortable, and affordable, which is what you get at Sunshine Suites. Bravo to these hard working hospitality professionals for setting the standard that all other hotels should follow. We will definitely be back, probably this winter.

Nelson the Weather Dog

Just returned from a nine night stay with my wife and 2 teenagers and had a great time at the Sunshine Suites. The service is outstanding and the rooms are fantastic. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the friendliest staff you have ever met. Special thanks to Trina,Michael and Nathan who made our vacation something we will never forget. Upon leaving we made it a point to say goodbye to them personally which I don't usually do when leaving a hotel. They have so much valuable information about Grand Cayman and are always willing to take the time out to talk to you.  Also a special thanks to Mr.Wray, the General Manager for his warm hospitality. The food at the Sunshine Grill is tops on the island. I do not have one negative thing to say about our stay as everything was positive. Do yourself a favor and avoid paying the high prices directly on the beach at the Ritz or the Westin. The money you will save at the SS is worth walking across the street
to get to the beach. We are still depressed that we had to leave and hope to visit again in the near future. You can be assured it will be at the Sunshine. 8/10

We visited the sunshire suites with our daughter (19) and Niece (18). I would recommend this hotel, it is noted as a budget one.. which is right but with first class service. The rooms were clean and a lovely size, all with ensuite and kitchen. The breakfast was a ample. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definately be back. 8/10

I am a nut when I stay in hotels ! I bring my own bottle of clorox with me to clean,before I touch anything! After a long flight(layover in Miami) we had gotten to the hotel and much to my surprise,you can tell that the room was clean. I didn't use my clorox for my trip,no need. We walked into the lobby and before us were smiling faces.The front desk people (Michael,Renior,Nathan,Trisha ) Were so helpful and friendly.We had no problems because they took care of everything for us.Going to and from the best places to eat (taste wise and money wise) even directions. We had a wonderful stay at Sunshine Suites that I can wait to do it again !!...We were there for 8 days and those smiles stayed ( even on my face ! ) ! Everyone we met at Sunshine Suites were fantastic,funny and genuinely nice ! No matter who you ran into ,the front desk crew,pool man,cleaning staff or the wait staff ,someone always said good morning/day/evening with a smile ! Oh,They also have the best Burgers on the Island ! I could tell I was nowhere near home ! I even took a picture with Michael, Renior and Nathan ! When you do go, please tell "PACO" I said hello and will see him again soon ! 8/10

We ate at the Sunshine Grill twice last week and it was great both times. The fish tacos are delicious, but my favorite thing was the lunch special on Wed. - a wonderful crab cake that came with a salad and onion rings. My son declared the Kingston burger (spicy with jerk mayo) to be the best burger he has ever had, and he has had lots of burgers! Service and atmosphere were very good and the prices are quite reasonable. Definitely deserves Trip Advisor's #1 rating. 8/10

BEST BUY ON THE ISLAND! As a travel agent I travel frequently doing hotel sight inspections. On my recent trip to Grand Cayman we were assigned to the Sunshine Suites. I had seen the property six years ago and was looking forward to staying at this small hotel. I was more than satisfied with my stay.....even though I saw many other 5 star properties on my visit, I was glad to be staying at the Sunshine Suites. The staff is wonderful....so friendly and caring. The Sunshine Grill is every bit as good as everyone says. Even though we were having some very good meals at other restaurants and hotels....we wished that we could have had more at the Sunshine Grill.....amazing fresh food....ALL OF IT.....the beef brisket tacos were even more yummy than the fish ones....the calamari, french fries, onion rings.....OMG....wish I could have them every week.....and the prices were so reasonable. The only drawback is not being right on the beach (just across the street).....but after a day or two at this little jewel....you will soon forget about that. For a family, their suites are the way to go...plenty of room....and SO clean!
I hope to go back with my family and stay here again.

As a woman traveling alone to the island, I was a bit apprehensive as you can imagine. I reached out prior to arriving and Trina was absolutely amazing and should be commended for her customer service skills. She immediately put my mind to rest about a few different things. Upon arrival, I received nothing but personal attention from everyone I encountered. I ended every day with a nightcap in the Sunshine Grill. Mike and his staff - especially Kelee, Kayla and Brad felt like dear friends I had known for years by the end of the week. The meals were amazing and I have definintely missed Mike's home grown tomatos for lunch :) You made my little soul searching trip an unbelievably relaxing, enjoying and comfortable experience.
