NEWS, REVIEWS and GUEST COMMENTS

The lead article in the Travel Section of The New York Times featured Sunshine Suites Resort as their top recommendation of “Where to Stay” while in Grand Cayman.
The article featured the best places in Grand Cayman for reasonably priced vacations and we have since learned the author stayed with us while on Grand Cayman preparing the article. Sunshine Suites continues to get rave reviews on the internet travel sites from our previous guests and our hotel’s restaurant, The Sunshine Grill, has become one of the most popular and busiest restaurants on the island. |

We always stay at the Ritz-Carlton and just found out about the Sunshine Grill from one of our servers at the hotel. Absolutely the best food on the island! The hamburgers, fish tacos and mixed drinks are awesome and the price is right. Just delicious!!!! We have been here 3 days and have already eaten there twice and plan to go back. It is a must try! 7/10 |

In the July/August issue of Men's Health Magazine, editor Selita Ebanks shared her tips on visiting her home island (just a 4-hour trip from NYC). She included Sunshine Suites Resort in her picks of tastiest foods, best beaches, and most thrilling(and relaxing) experiences. |
AMAZING stay. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, safe, friendly. The room was perfect- roomy, great internet access, great kitchen area. The staff made my entire trip. The restaurant is THE BEST and so friendly. I would stay here again and recommend it to everyone I know. (H.S. - Travelocity) 6-10 |

BEST BUY ON THE ISLAND! As a travel agent I travel frequently doing hotel sight inspections. On my recent trip to Grand Cayman we were assigned to the Sunshine Suites. I had seen the property six years ago and was looking forward to staying at this small hotel. I was more than satisfied with my stay.....even though I saw many other 5 star properties on my visit, I was glad to be staying at the Sunshine Suites. The staff is wonderful....so friendly and caring. The Sunshine Grill is every bit as good as everyone says. Even though we were having some very good meals at other restaurants and hotels....we wished that we could have had more at the Sunshine Grill.....amazing fresh food....ALL OF IT.....the beef brisket tacos were even more yummy than the fish ones....the calamari, french fries, onion rings.....OMG....wish I could have them every week.....and the prices were so reasonable.
The only drawback is not being right on the beach (just across the street).....but after a day or two at this little jewel....you will soon forget about that. For a family, their suites are the way to go...plenty of room....and SO clean!
I hope to go back with my family and stay here again.
Thank you Nadia and Darren and the rest of your top notch team! 6-10 |
| As a woman traveling alone to the island, I was a bit
apprehensive as you can imagine. I reached out prior to arriving and Trina
was absolutely amazing and should be commended for her customer service
skills. She immediately put my mind to rest about a few different things.
Upon arrival, I received nothing but personal attention from everyone I
encountered. I ended every day with a nightcap in the Sunshine Grill. Mike
and his staff - especially Kelee, Kayla and Brad felt like dear friends I
had known for years by the end of the week. The meals were amazing and I
have definintely missed Mike's home grown tomatos for lunch :) You made my
little soul searching trip an unbelievably relaxing, enjoying and
comfortable experience. Thank you Sunshine Suites, I can't wait to come back
and see all of my new friends! S.L. Columbue OH 5/10 |

On arrival we thought it was a huge mistake going less expensive
when the company would have picked up the expense at the Westin. And that
feeling continued after check in as we did not like the location of the ground floor room. However, after we were moved to a higher floor with a
better view and we tasted Sunshine Grill's Kingston Burger, Jamaican Chop
House Jerk Chicken Tacos, Jerk Chicken Triple Decker Quesadilla washed down
with Dark & Stormy served by wonderful and always pleasant crew staff. Although we still had the option of moving, we opted to stay for the week.
We enjoyed the hospitality and the cleanliness and saved the company a
whole lot of cash. We told everyone we met about Sunshine Grill's food. Thank you for
making our visit to Cayman a pleasure. cjk 5/11/10

This is my third stay at Sunshine Suites and have loved every minute of it. The staff treats you as "friends" not as "guests". I plan to return and look forward to staying at Sunshine Suites again. Note to Greg-I will look for Sunshine Suites on the Travel Channel next month. Sorry that I was camera shy. Always kudos to Trina, Nathan, Mike. 4-10

This was our 6th visit & we're never dissapointed! Loved the room
updates! (tv's and king linens) Thank you for the addition of eggs &
potatoes to the already generous breakfast! We noticed the new beach towels
& chairs. Thank you for making Sunshine Suites the easiest hotel to
recommend! You make my job as a travel agent easier every year! You've
thought of everything. We consider you our "home away from home"! A.F Wausau, Wi 4-10 |

We really enjoyed the hotel. The hotel and pool were very clean
and well-maintained. The laundry facilities were clean and convenient. The
room was functional, and comfortable and perfectly adequate. Lunch at the
Grill was excellent. Breakfast was good. We usually had
to wait for a table. No complaints, though. The office staff was outstanding
- very helpful, pleasant. They were a great help organizing an excursion,
making dinner recommendations and reservations for us, and helping with
on-line check-in for our return flight. Our girls thoroughly enjoyed walking
Nelson (the weather dog). We will definitely stay at Sunshine Suites again on our next trip to
Grand Cayman. Thanks for a great stay - 3-10 |

I have been vacationing in Grand Cayman for the past 13 years. I have tried various hotels along Seven Mile Beach but have stayed predominantly at the Westin (across the street from Sunshine Suites). Imagine my surprise when during a 10 day stay at Sunshine Suites (SS) I received vastly better service, accomodations and food than at the Westin at a fraction of the cost!!
I must begin by commenting on the world class service I received from Trina and the rest of the staff at SS. I began emailing Trina 2 months prior to my trip to guarantee arrangements because my family and I were celebrating my father's retirement party and I wanted everything to go smoothly. She was so prompt and efficient that my mind was completely at ease. Once I arrived at SS, she met me personally and handled any request that I had.
The rooms are spacious, clean and very useful. The kitchenette was fully stocked with appliances and utensils. For visitors of Grand Cayman, a good kitchenette can make a HUGE difference in terms of how much money you can save by cooking a few meals in your room!
Both the restaurant and the complimentary breakfast buffet provided the best value and some of the best food on the island.
My only regret with this trip is that I hadn't tried Sunshine Suites sooner!!

I was talking with a close by neighbor last evening who just returned from
the Cayman Islands. He stopped there for dinner one evening with his
friends/family and had really
good things to say about the food. I actually went to school with the
owner/manager
of your restaurant (Mike Dill) and he unfortunately was not there the
evening they stopped
in for dinner. If you could pass the word onto Mike how happy they were
with their
dining experience would be appreciated.
I will definately keep your property in mind when I send future clients to
the Cayman Islands and certainly highly recommend your restaurant.
Sincerely,
Melanie McCormick

I just wanted to drop a line and let you know how extremely pleased we
were with everything and everyone at Sunshine Suites. We couldn't have
asked for a better place to accommodate our guests.
Thanks again for giving us one less thing to worry about in the chaos
of wedding plans! You and your team are truly the best.

Helen and I just want you to know that although our time in the Cayman Islands (at Sunshine Suites) was quite brief, and the time spent with you very fleeting, the impression you have left upon our hearts is without measure... Thanks to your kindness and support, which you gave so freely and warmly, you helped to make the occasion of our marriage a truly special one... Would you be kind enough to convey a heartfelt thak you to all of your colleagues for the warmth and hospitality they so freely gave. We hope to see everyone next year.
Love and best wishes,
John & Helen

"My family and I have been vacationing and SCUBA diving in the Cayman Islands for more than 20 years and have stayed at a variety of hotels and condominiums. On our last two visits we stayed at Sunshine Suites and we have never had a better experience. This hotel is a beautiful gem in the Caribbean. Nadia Hardie and the rest of her staff are outstanding, the grounds are beautifully groomed and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Mike Dill and his staff at the Sunshine Grill do a fabulous job, making the best cheeseburgers and fish tacos on the island. During our most recent visit a group of eight Boy Scouts and adult leaders stayed at Sunshine Suites for a week and the experience was extraordinarily memorable due to the excellent hospitality. The hotel partners with Divers Down and we had an outstanding SCUBA experience diving beautiful sites around Grand Cayman. I would highly recommend Sunshine Suites and Divers Down to anyone considering a Caribbean vacation. The most frequently asked question after our group returned home is "how soon can we go back." I hope very soon. Best regards, C.B.

I previously worked in the hotel business for 12 years with such companies as the Hyatt and Marriott hotels. There were three things I taught my staff and very pleased to see is alive and well at Sunshine Suites,
- You NEVER get a second chance to make a first impression - Reservation, Front Desk and Bellmen are your first and most important line of defense in this area.
- A hotel although new, luxurious or well maintained is only as good as the staff you put in it.
- Ensure your guest have a memorable experience by providing exceptional service.
To the management of this the Sunshine Suites property, take a bow, a job well done and I will recommend this hotel to all my colleagues Thank You: S Q |

I came down in March for a wedding and the hotel was selected for us, i throughly enjoyed my stay at Sunshine Suites the first time, and loved the location to the beach without the price. It is also close to dolphins, turtles, and Georgetown. I decided I loved the island and hotel so much that I brought my Granddaughter and mother down for a visit 2 months later in June. The room we stayed in was great, and everyone was very friendly, Sunshine grill has great food, especially the cheeseburgers and key lime pie...yummy. I am planning another visit again soon and will be staying here again. I am also telling anyone who is planning a vacation to come to the island and stay at Sunshine Suites. Get ready for more reservations!

Great value, affordable very nice hotel, just across the street from 7 mile beach. Easy walk to the Governor's Reef, my favorite reef in the Cayman.

| Your Hotel is a gem and a super grill on the premises. Ufortunately we moved over to the Ritz for the balance of our club vacation. However we kept coming back to the Grill for dinner and afternoon lunch. We even met some friends for dinner at the Grill. The Ritz was very classy and our room was extremely wonderful... Your team (members) were excellent and very helpful and friendly we plan to book a week vacation with you next year or 2012 my only reservation is that you keep your style of lodging approach thanks. |

Hi Don/Gavin/Nadia,
I just wanted to thank you all for your help in making our stay on GCM in late April/early May so enjoyable.
We had a really fantastic time at Sunshine Suites and were very impressed by the high standard and excellent value for money of the accommodation, grounds, facilities and food/beverage, as well as the welcoming yet efficient staff. In fact we liked it so much, we decided to extend our holiday and stay an extra night!
We also enjoyed the Batabano festivities, did some great diving and snorkelling (including Stingray City of course), toured most of the island by car, and managed to fit in a meal at the delightful Vivine's Kitchen in East End (even getting to meet the great lady herself!).
Hopefully we'll get the chance to visit GCM again in the not too distant future, at which time I shall be sure to get in touch again. In the meantime, we shall enthusiastically recommend the islands' delights to family, friends and colleagues.
Thanks once again, and please pass on our kind regards to all at Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Resort Marketing and Sunshine Suites.

Everything was top notch but we'd particularly like to commend the staff. Everyone from the front desk to the wait staff to the cleaning crew were friendly, helpful, patient, knowledgeable and professional. They were the principle reason we enjoyed our stay so much.

The staff at the Sunshine Grill and front desk were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the hammocks and chairs placed around the grounds to relax and have a few rum drinks before going out to dinner. Beach towels and chairs supplied for the beach were a nice touch. We traveled to Grand Cayman as a group of friends and family members - and everyone was very impressed! We look forward to returning as soon as we can! Scott -

We just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at this hotel and just loved it! We will return for certain. The location is excellent, as is its restaurant, the Sunshine Grill. The hospitality and service was TOP NOTCH! We especially want to recognize Trina Gordon, who sets the "gold standard" for customer service. She went above and beyond and made sure that we were well taken care of. She was exceptional! Nadia, Mike, Leslie and the rest of the staff were very good as well. They respect your privacy and are quietly in the background ready to assist with anything at any time. The whole staff creates an excellent atmosphere for total island relaxation.
This cute hotel is a casual, exceptionally clean and unpretentious little gem on Grand Cayman. It is a great value and is so convenient to everything. The one bedroom suite is spacious and there are lots of little extras that make your stay so pleasant. The atmosphere around the pool and the grounds are nice. The pool isn't super large, but adequate for lap swimming and sunning. After all, the beach and gorgeous Caribbean Sea are nearby anyway!
The free, breakfast is a really nice addition by the pool, complete with orange and mango juices and a variety of fruits, cereals and pastries. You can even buy a custom-made omelet for a nominal charge. There's an ice cream machine and the bar makes great drinks. Unfortunately, they discontinued their famous Thursday night barbeque right before we arrived, as have some other hotels. We understand that it was a favorite among locals, who often dine at the poolside restaurant. Maybe it will return again. The Sunshine Grill has gourmet food and the greatest hamburgers (and I don't even usually eat hamburgers or like meat much). We ate there twice. The restaurant staff, like the other staff take great pride in the food and service. It is obvious.
The location is so ideal - its not a big deal to walk across West Bay Road to the beach. Just wait for a break in the busy traffic and you are right at Seven Mile Beach and other resorts. The hotel provides chairs and beach towels that you can carry to the sand. You are surrounded by other, more expensive resorts and good, reasonably-priced restaurants and services. We cooked in our room a few times and having a refrigerator, stove and microwave was a nice treat. The nearest full grocery is a bit of a walk - maybe 10 or 15 minutes. No problem, the weather is generally perfect anyway. Eat at the Sunshine Grill or nearby or cook in your room or on one of their grills. We met some locals who said that the Sunshine Suites is where they put up their friends and family when visiting. If the locals vouch for it, you know its good! Trina, Nadia and the staff will assist you in every way, from directions to a bottle of water. The rooms and beds and furniture are very comfortable. Its a nice atmosphere for a great price. Do stay here. You won't be disappointed. |

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the fish tacos! They are unbeatable! Can't
get my mind off them. I'd like to make them for my family this weekend.
What was in them, other than the mahi- mahi and havarty? A relish with
mint, tomato and red onion, but what else? Please help me out with the
recipe. Thanking you in advance, Jean Kasten
See you next year!

My wife and I thought Sunshine Suites was fantastic and look forward to staying there again. We have never been to Cayman Islands before and chose the Sunshine Suites primarily based on previous guest's reviews, and we were not disappointed. It is a bit of a hassle to cross the street to get to the beach, but well worth it. The staff was very friendly, helpful and the grounds were very well taken care of. The complimentary breakfast was good to have... When our remote to one of the TV's did not work they had a new remote to us in about 15 minutes. When I asked for more ice trays for the freezer to make iced tea they went out of their way to get some for us and had them to us in a matter of minutes. I think they thought it was rather humorous that we were asking for ice cube trays, but they only had one very small on in our freezer. We all got a laugh out of it. God willing we will see you again next - Christmas

Everything was just great. Everyone at the front desk was so
friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning to GCI and we definitely will stay at Sunshine Suites again. Much better than the big hotels. You can control your own room temperature; the rooms are comfy, the little kitchen is just great; the pool area was terrific with the bar/restaurant right there; the grounds were lovely; and even the laundry facilities were well maintained.I will recommend Sunshine Suites to all my friends.

THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP TO GRAND CAYMAN & WE LOVED IT. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN & GOT TO EXPERIENCE SO MUCH IN THE SHORT TIME WE WERE THERE. I CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK. THE ENTIRE STAFF, INCLUDING THE RESTAURANT, WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL & ENTHUSIASTIC. THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP & MAKE SURE WE WERE HAPPY. THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE
ACTIVITIES & THE ISLANDS. HOPE TO SEE Y'ALL AGAIN SOON!

Our stay between Christmas and New Years was incredible. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was so nice out at the grill, and the lunch and dinner there is the some of the best on the island. Try as much off the menu as possible, it's all delicious. The staff at Sunshine Suites is first rate, as well. They are extremely friendly and full of knowledge. The beach across from the hotel is beautiful. Staying at Sunshine Suites on Seven Mile Beach is pretty much paradise. Keep up the good work, guys. We'll be booking our next trip with you very soon!
